Carol Ann Sweeney, B.Sc.(HK) C.Ped (C) C.Ped (Tech) (Owner)
Carol Ann Sweeney graduated from The University of Guelph in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics. This degree provided her with the knowledge to pursue her certification as Pedorthic Technician in 2002 and a Canadian Certified Pedorthist in 2007. A Pedorthist is trained in the assessment, design, manufacture, fit and modification of foot appliances and footwear. The objective is to alleviate pain and provide assistance for abnormalities or limited actions of the lower limb. She has worked for numerous orthotic companies across Canada and in the province.
Carol Ann is the owner of Fit Right Orthotics which has a manufacturing lab in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia. All orthotics are manufactured and adjusted locally which enables Carol Ann to have full control of the custom orthotic process, guaranteeing a superb product.
Carol Ann prides herself on her outstanding customer service and looks forward to providing services at our numerous clinics we have partnered with. She has worked with a full range of clients including children, adults, athletes and the elderly. She has manufactured and fitted orthotics for skates, ski boots and cleats allowing athletes to compete and train in complete comfort.
Carol Ann was a very competitive athlete reaching high standards in track and field. When she is not working, she lives an active life taking many walks and bike rides with her family. Her daughter competes for Nova Scotia in gymnastics and track and field while her son has strong interests in modified cars and ATVs.
Terry Sweeney CD CPT, (Sales and Marketing)
Terry worked for 16 years with the Canadian Armed Forces. For five years as a Marine Engineer but later followed his passion for Fitness, Sports.
Retired in 1997 but continued to work for the military as a civilian, over seeing Fitness, Sports and recreation needs of the military community. Working with local military leaders and management staff from Ottawa Terry continued to develop and improve the military fitness and sports programming at CFB Halifax up until 2016. Throughout his career he was fortunate to be involved with events and programs which saw guest speakers such as Brian Trottier, Heather Moyse, Masai Ujiri and Wendel Clarke.
Retiring in Nov of 2016, Terry still has a strong passion for fitness sports and is heavily involved with local programming.
Terry plans on taking an active role to make Fit Right Orthotics a leader in the industry in providing outstanding custom orthotics to clients, so they can live healthy full lives pain free.
